Kenya’s Supreme Court has upheld the victory of Uhuru Kenyatta in the March 4 presidential election, Chief Justice Willy Mutunga said.
The court unanimously ruled on Saturday that the election had been conducted in a “free, fair, transparent and credible” manner and that Kenyatta and his running mate had been “validly elected”, Mutunga said.
In the lead up period to the elections many tourists chose to stay away from Kenya fearing a repeat of the violence that marred the previous elections. Hopefully with the result now ratified by Kenya’s courts the situation will return to normal.
