Make 2017 the year you visit Zimbabwe
For each of the past three years, one of the absolute highlights of my year has been the time spent in Zimbabwe.
Despite the politics – and let’s face it the politics suck – Zimbabwe is the place to go for an authentic African safari.
It’s got the wildlife, it’s got the scenery, it’s got some of the best guides on the continent and it offers a lot more than just game drives.
When you’re on safari in Zimbabwe you feel special. The parks are uncrowded and you can often spend whole days without seeing another game vehicle.
The parks too, elevate a safari in Zimbabwe beyond just a simple game viewing experience.
The thundering waters of Victoria Falls are one of the natural wonders of the world and make this vibrant little town a great place to start or end your safari.
Just a few hours drive will bring you to Hwange, Zimbabwe’s largest National Park where you will encounter vast herds of elephant and buffalo, but hardly any other people.
In Mana Pools NP or Zambezi NP you can view game whilst canoeing down the river.
At Matusadona NP, on the shores of Lake Kariba, as well as game drives and walks, a boat ride on the lake will bring you close to animals and birds that you’d otherwise miss entirely. And what a location for sundowners!
In the rocky hills of Matobo NP you can track rhino of foot and stay in a room built into the very rock itself.
Tucked away on the south eastern border with Mozambique is Zimbabwe’s second largest National Park, Gonarezhou NP. With an incredible diversity of habitats Gonarezhou is special and the majestic Chilojo cliffs make an awe inspiring backdrop for any photo.
We like nothing better than sharing our passion for the great places in Africa and are thrilled to have some amazing safaris in Zimbabwe to inspire you.
Whether you like travelling alone or as part of a small group, why not get in touch to discuss your travel plans?
In the meantime, here are a few ideas to get you thinking.

Elephant – an African Icon – combining Botswana and Zimbabwe
Not only is the elephant an African icon; from a photographic point of view, they are the ideal subject.
